She is the owner of “Lost Creek Herbs”, and is currently President of the Alabama Herb Society.
A Rose Is A Rose Is A Rose Gloria Purnell has been growing roses for about 30 years and has 100 roses in her garden. Her first rose bush was a gift, and she quickly became addicted to the hobby. Now retired from UAB, she has won many blue ribbons, including Queen of the Birmingham Rose Show in 2011. She is a Consulting Rosarian, Master Rosarian, and an Accredited Horticulture Judge for the American Rose Society.
Growing and Cooking with Herbs Janell Diggs is a Master Gardener with a passion for growing and cooking with herbs. She was born and raised in rural Tennessee. Farming and gardening were always a part of her life. She traveled and served with her Army husband for 27 years, continuing that tradition with small gardens and flower beds everywhere they lived. Today they live on a farm in Hope Hull, AL, surrounded by 100 acres of open gardening canvas, fulfilling her 30-year dream.
The Bees Dance Randy Merijanian of Dancing Bee Apiaries is a third generation beekeeper. He and his wife Melinda have resided in Montgomery Alabama’s Garden District for many years, are backyard beekeepers and have a keen interest in helping bees thrive in our world. Randy has spent 35 years working and studying to become an expert on bees, their habits and habitats. Randy is also a Capital City Master Gardener and the owner of Brass Hardware in Montgomery.
